COLLABORATIONS
HANOISON brings together lacquer artisans, leatherworkers and metal engravers. Each is responsible for a different part of the watch, but all work toward the same standard.
HA THAI LACQUER
Our presentation boxes are finished by hand in Ha Thai, Hanoi, where lacquer craftsmanship dates back to the seventeenth century.
Formerly known as Cu Trang, the village was once known for producing red-and-gold lacquerware for royal households. Today, that tradition continues through layers of hand-applied lacquer, natural surface variations and the HANOISON emblem stamped in gold foil. The box is not simply packaging. It is the first part of the experience.

ALLIGATOR LEATHER
HANOISON straps are made from genuine alligator leather. We select the belly section for its fine, balanced scales and naturally soft texture.
Each strap is sewn by hand using the traditional saddle-stitch technique. Over time, contact with light, warmth and the wrist gradually deepens the leather’s color, giving every strap its own character.

HAND-ENGRAVED DIALS
Our dials are engraved by hand on copper or 925 sterling silver.
Sterling silver is softer and more sensitive than copper, requiring careful control of pressure and movement. A small change in the engraver’s hand can affect the depth and sharpness of each line.
After engraving, the dial is finished in rhodium or 18K gold. Selected details may also be highlighted with 24K gold to create a subtle contrast between warm gold and cool silver.
ONE WATCH. MANY HANDS.
The lacquer box, leather strap and engraved dial are made by different artisans. Together, they become one HANOISON watch.
