Memento Mori is a reflection on mortality, the fleeting nature of existence and the illusions created by worldly success.

At the centre, a skull dressed in a tailored suit and tie presents a deliberate contradiction: an image of refinement and achievement confronted by the certainty of death. The partially burned cigarette represents the limited measure of a human life, while its smoke rises through the hollow eye socket towards twelve o’clock before dissolving into nothingness.

The four hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 surround the figure like milestones along an irreversible journey. Each passing moment draws every life closer to its conclusion, reminding us that status, wealth and professional accomplishment ultimately hold no power over time.

Every detail is engraved entirely by hand on a copper or nickel-silver dial, with selected elements finished in 18K gold plating. Deep relief cuts define the skull and tailored clothing, while delicate shading gives the smoke its fragile, vanishing presence.

Memento Mori is not simply a symbol of death, but an invitation to live consciously—to recognise the limits of time and give meaning to every moment that remains.

MATERIALS

• Upper Leather: Genuine alligator leather. Due to its natural grain, each strap features a unique pattern.
• Color: Black. The actual color may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions and screen settings.
• Lining: Soft, sweat-resistant Zermatt leather for enhanced comfort and durability.
